Privacy Policy

I. Who & what this covers

This policy covers the Society’s website, Dispatch and chapter-interest registers, organizer inquiries, membership administration, and correspondence. The Society of Undersocialized Parents, LLC is responsible for the Society-held information described in this policy. Payment provisions apply when you use a payment service for a Society purchase. Features still in preparation do not collect information merely because they are described here. See Membership for current enrollment availability.

II. Information we handle

• Correspondence and interest registers: email address, town, selected chapter, an optional name, and records of the form, permission, and submission time. Organizer inquiries require a name and include the message you write.
• Help and membership administration: details you give us to answer a question or manage a household membership, such as adult contact information, the billing contact, chapter preference, and the request or issue being handled. We do not ask for marital status.
• Payment records: when payments are made, the payment provider may make billing contact details, transaction references, amounts, dates, subscription status, paid periods, refunds, disputes, and limited payment-method information available to the Society. Full card numbers and card security codes are entered with the payment provider, not collected by this website.
• Technical information: hosting and payment services may process IP addresses, browser or device information, requests, and security logs to deliver and protect their services. For form-abuse prevention, this application stores a date-based hashed network identifier with an expiration of about one day, rather than storing the raw IP address in its form-limit table.

Please do not put children’s personal details, medical information, full payment credentials, or other sensitive information in forms or ordinary email.

III. How we use it

We use information to maintain the registers, deliver the correspondence you requested, answer inquiries, administer available memberships and payments, resolve billing issues, prevent abuse, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations.

Dispatch and chapter-interest permissions are used for relevant gathering notices and occasional Society news. Organizer inquiries are used to discuss a possible chapter; they do not subscribe you to the Dispatch. Buying membership or merchandise does not itself provide marketing consent.

Payment confirmations, requested help, and necessary membership or service notices are separate from optional promotional correspondence. An email signup, attendance at a gathering, membership entitlement, and payment status are different facts.

IV. Services & sharing

Society records are used by the Secretary and people authorized to carry out the relevant Society work. Information shared with an organizer for a gathering is limited to the participant and logistical information needed for that task. Contact lists are not public member directories.

• Cloudflare hosts the website and its database and handles delivery and security information. Form entries are retained in the site database for Society administration.
• MailerLite receives email-signup information, including email, name if supplied, town, and chapter, to manage subscriptions and deliver correspondence. It may process delivery and engagement information, such as opens or link clicks, depending on mailing settings. When confirmation is required, follow its confirmation email to finish joining.
• Formspree processes organizer inquiries and sends them to the Secretary. It receives the inquiry and contact information and may retain them. Organizer inquiries are not sent to MailerLite.
• Stripe processes membership payments when paid checkout is available. Stripe collects payment and billing information through its hosted checkout and billing portal and uses information for processing, fraud prevention, and its legal obligations. Its own Privacy Policy also applies to its services.
• Fourthwall supplies merchandise information and checkout. Selected product variants and quantities are sent to Fourthwall when you proceed to merchandise checkout. It collects contact, shipping, and payment details under its own Privacy Policy.
• Email and optional payment services handle correspondence or transactions you send through them. For example, Venmo processes an optional contribution or a separately arranged payment under its own privacy practices.

We do not sell Society contact or membership records or share them with advertisers for targeted advertising. We may disclose relevant records where required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, a payment dispute, or a threat to people or the service.

Providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. External maps, Instagram, venue sites, and ticketing links have their own privacy practices. Following an external link does not subscribe you to Society mail.

V. Cookies & browser storage

The Society shop stores your cart in this browser’s local storage so it can remain available between visits. It contains product names, options, prices, and quantities, not your name, email, shipping address, or card details. Use “Empty cart” or clear this site’s browser storage to remove it.

The website does not add advertising trackers. Hosting and linked payment services may use cookies or similar technologies for operation, security, fraud prevention, and their own services. You can manage cookies through your browser; blocking them may affect those services.

VI. Retention & protection

We retain information while needed for the purpose described here. We review organizer inquiries that do not proceed for removal. Payment, accounting, dispute, and consent records may need to be retained to meet legal requirements or resolve an outstanding issue even after a membership ends or deletion is requested.

We retain limited suppression information where needed to honor an unsubscribe request. Deleting a mailing-list record must not cause someone to be added back without permission.

We use access restrictions and the hosting and payment providers’ protections to reduce unauthorized access. No website, email system, or storage method can promise absolute security. Please use hosted checkout for payment details.

VII. Your choices

Use the unsubscribe link in a Dispatch to stop optional mailings. For help with subscriptions, or to request access to, correction of, or deletion of Society-held information, email society@undersocializedparents.com. You do not need a website account to make a request.

We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify that the records are yours. We will explain any information that must be retained and respond as required by applicable law. Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply.

Unsubscribing from email or asking for deletion does not automatically cancel a paid subscription. If you want future charges stopped, also request cancellation using the cancellation procedure. Both requests may be made in one email.

VIII. Children & photographs

The website, correspondence registers, and memberships are intended for adults. Children are welcome at eligible Expeditions, but the Society does not knowingly collect their personal information through these forms or create child membership accounts. If you believe a child’s information was submitted, contact the Secretary so it can be reviewed and removed as appropriate.

Attending a gathering is not blanket permission for the Society to use an identifiable photograph of you or your child in publicity. We seek permission for that use. Contact the Secretary with a concern about a Society-published photograph.

IX. Policy updates

We update this page as the service and its information practices change, identify the revision date, and provide any additional notice or consent request required by law. A future account or portal service will need privacy information that matches the features actually offered.
